Fossilised Fish from the Green River Formation in Wyoming are famous for their abundance and excellent preservation, dating back to the Eocene epoch (around 50 million years agao). The Knightia is the most common species, while other species like Diplomystus and Mioplosus are also found, with some species being rare. The fossils are found in Fossil Lake, where anoxic conditions preserved fish in layers of limestone.
